This page explains what South Charlotte Home Guide, also published as Living in South Charlotte, collects when you visit or send us a message, and what it does not.
What we collect
We use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages get read. That records things like the pages you view, roughly where you are, your browser and device, and how you arrived. It is aggregate traffic measurement. We do not use it to identify you personally.
When you use the contact form
The contact form asks for your name and email, and optionally your phone, your company, trade and towns served, a website or Google Business Profile link, a license number and a message. We keep what you send so we can review your company for a list, check a correction, and reply to you. Each message is stored privately on this site and sent to us by email. It is never published, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
To stop automated spam, the form records how long the page was open before you sent it, and the site briefly keeps a coded form of your connection’s address so it can limit how many messages one connection sends in an hour. That record clears itself after an hour.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not run comments, so we collect nothing through them.
- We do not require an account to read anything here.
Cookies and embedded content
Pages embed videos from YouTube. YouTube sets its own cookies and collects its own data when a video loads, under Google’s privacy policy rather than ours. Analytics also sets a cookie. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a message you sent to be deleted, or opt out of analytics using Google’s browser add-on. Send the request through the contact form and we will handle it.

South Charlotte Home Guide was started in 2022 by Steve Jarrell, a real estate broker licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. You can reach the guide through the contact page.
